Our government is working at it’s best; just like our forefathers intended it to. Right now, during this time of debt crisis, history is being made. When we look back on this event, we’ll see that this was the point at which our country turned the corner. This is when we go from being the big spending, big government system to a system that must compromise in order to get anything done. This is the point at which Americans really get that we need our government under tighter control. The Tea Party elected their Representatives and they’re throwing a wrench in the negotiations. This is a good thing. The Tea Party Republicans forced the world to look at the debt crisis issue. They’re saying: “We’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore.” Without them, the debt limit would most likely have been passed without a hiccup. Because of the new Republicans , there is a strenuous debate between Congress and the President. This is how our government was designed; to withstand exactly this sort of argument without creating a revolution. There are three branches of government: The Executive, the Legislative and the Judicial branches. Our forefathers designed this system to work best when control is divided between the political parties. When Congress and the President are all within the same political party, the system does not work at it’s best. Look at Obamacare. In addition, look at the runaway spending of the Bush Administration. This debt crisis is the result of the Executive and Legislative branches going toe to toe. They’re sorting things out. There’s a lot of anxiety on the part of the people as to whether this issue will be resolved, but the deadline will arrive and there will be a plan in place. We will not default. The downside is just too grave.
